freeform® technique, we slab both eyes, yielding a more comfortable and
balanced mounted pair. The slab line can be visible or hidden, making this
option a good choice for progressive wearers.
With conventional slaboff manufacturing, it is difficult to produce a
straight line at the correct position when the power difference is less then
1.5 D. In such cases, slaboff is often warranted but not prescribed. With
our process, the line is always straight and exactly where specified,
regardless of prescription. Delivery times on slaboff will no longer be an
issue.
Where there is a specific need for reverse slab, we can offer this
product in any lens style, and any non-glass material at the same price
level as a normal slaboff.
When slabbing a progressive, it is important to know the vertical
distance between the distant and near centers, and place the line
accordingly.
